Liposculpture: what it is and how it is performed
Liposculpture is a cosmetic surgery operation during which fat cells deposited in localized areas of the body are aspirated. The cannulas used have a length between 12 and 15 cm and, compared to those used in the liposuction treatment, have a smaller diameter. While, in fact, the liposuction cannulas have a diameter of 5-10 mm, the diameter of those used for liposculpture measures 2-4 mm. This difference makes it possible to classify liposculpture as a less traumatic method and, moreover, able to guarantee much more precise and harmonious body modeling results, without hollows or irregularities.
Liposculpture can be performed on different areas of the body, from the abdomen to the arms, from the thighs to the calves, from the hips to the knees, up to the ankles, neck and even the cheeks. The operation is carried out by making small incisions through which an anesthetic and a vasoconstrictor are first injected, and then the cannulas are inserted with which the cosmetic surgeon will proceed with the aspiration of the fat.
Liposculpture before and after: the results
Following the liposculpture operation, and for a period of approximately three weeks, it is necessary to wear a containment sheath, which not only promotes the healing of the treated areas, but also the maintenance of the remodeling obtained with the liposculpture.
Liposculpture surgery can cause bruising that takes time to reabsorb, but the results are satisfactory. For optimal recovery it is important that the patient:
Rest completely for 3 days
You do not play any sports until one month has passed after the operation
Avoid sun exposure for at least 40 days after liposculpture surgery
Follow a balanced diet
If, after liposculpture, patients do not adopt correct eating habits and do not perform adequate physical activity, the accumulations of fat will reappear. In fact, liposculpture is not a remedy that replaces diet or physical exercise.
