Scars
Treatments to eliminate scars
A scar forms whenever the continuity of the skin (epidermis and dermis) is interrupted following a pathology, a traumatic event or surgery. Scar tissue fills wounds at the tissue and organ level.
There are three types of pathological scars:
Keloid
is a red, thick and sometimes painful formation that develops beyond the boundaries of the scarfrom which it originated. It appears mainly on the sternum, shoulders and auricles.
Hypertrophic scar
looks like a keloid, but has no scar tissue outside the boundaries. Sometimes it is accompanied by itching and pain.
hypotrophic scar
it is thin and hollow concerningthe surrounding skin
Scars: how to treat them to make them less evident
Removing the scars completely is not possible. However, they can be improved and made less evident with aesthetic medicine treatments such as:
Low-dose radiation therapies
Laser therapy
Dermabrasion
The cortisone injections
The occlusion with silicone
The massages and continuous compression
The laser and cortisone infiltrations are certainly the two most common solutions as they guarantee very satisfactory results. These are non-invasive techniques that are ideal for removing scars from any part of the bodyand do not involve complicated courses. Not being surgical interventions, these treatments need more sessions to be effective.
